Founded in 2015 by a group of nine dedicated volunteers, our agency was created to be proactive in addressing climate change at the grassroots level. Founded in 2015 by a group of nine dedicated volunteers, our agency was created to be proactive in addressing climate change at the grassroots level. We started by participating in advocacy campaigns towards local community decision-makers. In 2017 we started offering free solution-based climate change educational programming to interested members of the Greater Toronto Area. In 2018 we helped facilitate several greening initiatives across GTA neighbourhoods, as well as organized targeted waste reduction campaigns.

Our Team
We have a nine member volunteer Board of Directors. Our staff team is small with a team of three full time and four part-time staff. Our work would not be possible without the tireless efforts of over 30 dedicated volunteers and co-op students.

We work with property management groups to help them develop and implement strategies for reducing or diverting waste within their commercial and residential properties.

We have been engaging the community through horticulture training programs while supporting school and neighbourhood gardens.

We work with school boards to support teachers in delivering meaningful lesson plans that educate and inspire students to be environmentally conscious citizens that engage in climate mitigation projects.

In the classroom
In collaboration with our partner tree nurseries, we facilitate low cost planting of various native plant species for homeowners across the GTA.

Through our energy action program participants learn about energy conservation and are encouraged to take action in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by focusing on committing to behavioural changes, energy efficient appliances, and transitioning to green power.

Advancing strong policy and action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is a task that requires healthy intersectoral collaboration. Our team is actively engaging stakeholders from across government and sectors to influence national and local environmental policies.
